Alberta First Nations LED Conference 2013

I enjoyed attending the CANDO hosted Alberta First Nations Lands & Economic Development Training Symposium in Edmonton November 20th and 21st. The highlight was listening to the keynote address from former National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations Ovide Mercredi. He gave a wonderful overview of what has been accomplished in the last 42 years, since the 1969 White Paper and a strong argument to build on those accomplishments and do more. It was a pleasure and honour to listen to and meet someone who has worked so hard for non-violent change in Canada and abroad.
